Special FX Prosthetics 101
with Rob Burman

Learn the latest techniques and materials used in creating Hi-Def ready makeups out of encapsulated silicone and apply them.
 
Our course begins with the life casting process. Then, follow along with Mr. Burman as you both sculpt, mold, and cast your prosthetics. In the end, you will also apply your piece and learn a few tricks along the way to get you started in this 1 week intensive!
 
This is 5 days and is an “introductory” course. You will work primarily in the center of the face creating a prosthetic (nose, cheek, lip, eye, wound, etc., but staying within the “hairline” of your model). You will work with the latest and most advanced materials available. The focus is on “realism” and a “natural” look. After all, we’re Makeup Artists, creating a realistic and believable look is what we do, right? 
 
If you have no experience in the art of life casting, sculpting, molding, casting parts or applying prosthetics, this is the course for you! Even if you’ve had some previous experience we can guarantee to help you “up” your game and improve on your skills.

Cost: $1,200.00 + $125.00 for your materials & Take-Home Tool Kit

Itinerary

Day 1 (Monday)
&Teacher Orientation
7 pm: Social Hour (each social hour we serve light refreshments & our Hidalgo Hideaway country wine)

Day 2 - 4 (Tuesday - Thursday)
9 am: Breakfast served
10 am – 1pm: Class time
1 pm: lunch served
2 pm – 6 pm: Class time, critiques
    (Note: Lab open to the public 3:30pm – 7pm)
6 pm – 7 pm: Dinner on your own (there is a full kitchen in the Lab)
7 pm: Social Hour

Day 5 (Friday)
9 am: Breakfast served
10 am – 1 pm: Class time
1 pm: lunch served
3 pm – 6 pm: Final Critiques, Kara photographs individual artists, group photo
5 – 8 pm: Gallery exhibit art opening (for community to meet participants & see works)
8 pm: Farewell
