Pottery Demo (15 minutes) $25.00 / This is a demonstration only to certify experienced or self-taught potters to rent the Pottery Lab. Use of our pottery wheels will be quickly demonstrated, you will be instructed on our studio practices and our expectations for maintaining equipment and safety.

Intro to Sculpture, slab/free form/pinch/coil construction (2 part series, 1 hour each): Cost: $70.00.
Includes 2 lbs. clay, glaze, firing included / Class Size Limit: 10 / Age: 13+.
Ask for a class to certify you to use the slab roller to create slabbed forms or the extruder to squeeze out repeated shapes, or learn the techniques used in free form, pinch pot or coil pot construction.

Learn how to use the cabbing machines to take a gemstone from rock slab to a finished, polished cabochon. Go home with your finished gemstone or use it in a Wire Wrapping class (see below).

METAL ARTS LAB

Lost Wax Casting Certification Course (4 part, 3 hours each): Class: $150.00 + cost of metal.
(Metal for an average size ring is about $10 -$25) / Wax & studio fee included / Class Size Limit: 6 / Age: 18+.
This certifies you to rent the Lost Wax Casting Lab and a jeweler's bench. You will make a basic ring to understand how to carve in wax, mold it, cast it in metal using the centrifigal casting machine then polish it.

Tuesday - Friday, July 29 - August 1, 4:00pm - 7:00pm. This is our once-a-year intensive. Usually this is a 1x/week 4-week class. Call 208-932-0893 to register, then PAY HERE.

PAINTING
A canvas or panel with use of our brushes and paints are included / Class Size Limit: 10 / Age: 13+.
These follow-along classes teaches you how to paint in your chosen art medium. Unless otherwise stated, you'll paint a simple landscape scene with the goal of helping you replicate these techniques again, either in the studio or in plein air outside in the field. You will learn some of the basic principles of art and design as well as brush techniques.

Certify to use our film developing tanks or automated processor to develop black & white film in the photography darkroom. You'll be taught using 35mm fim but our Lab has tanks for film up to 4x5 sheet film.

Bring your own film or use one of our sample negatives / Chemicals are included / Class Size Limit: 4 / Age: 13+

PRINT LABS

Basic Screen Printing Certification (3 hours): Cost: $80.00 each or $110.00 per couple.
Materials included / Class Size Limit: 4 / Age: 14+
This certifies you to use the Print Lab's screens and vacuum table and 4-color press. You will learn one of the basic methods for creating a stencil on a screen so you can push ink through the screen to create a few prints on paper or fabric.
